All contractors subscribing to our website agree to service all of Halton Region prior to having their subscription approved.
How do I know the contractors you listed are reliable?
HaltonContractors has a very stringent application process verifying references and pertinent company documents. We ask for proof the contractor is bonded/insured and we build a professional relationship with all our member contractors. Our standards for application approval are high and only verified contractors may be listed in our directory. You and your very own neighbours provide reviews for the contractors you have hired in the past. You are encouraged to read the reviews from previous customers prior to accepting quotations by our member contractors. These reviews will ensure you make an informed decision in your hiring process.
Do you serve any areas outside of Halton Region?
HaltonContractors is available exclusively to the home and business owners in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills. We do not serve areas outside of Halton Region.
How do I find a contractor who will be most affordable?
When performing your search, you may sort the results by the overall score, quality of work performed, efficiency of the contractor, their customer service skills, as well as affordability. By checking off the Affordability search parameters, you will see who the prior customers have rated the most affordable. You would follow similar steps for any other criteria you may have for your project.
Will I ever be charged for looking up the contractor, requesting quotations or leaving/reading reviews?
No. Customers access our services for free. There is no obligation and no catch. We exist for your convenience, having done all the hard research work for you ahead of time. All you have to do is select from our pick of the crop.
Why do I have to create an account at HaltonContractors.ca?
You will be asked to create an account when you attempt to request a quote or leave a review. This feature is mandatory in order to protect the integrity of our site, prevent posting of fake reviews and ensure real people access our services. The feature is also available for your convenience, so you would not have to enter all your information every time. Rather, your most recent contact information is saved and pre-filled for your next visit to our directory.
What personal information will be shared publicly?
When you are requesting a quote, information entered will be forwarded to the contractor selected via Halton Region Contractors. None of this information is public and is only sent per your request. When you are leaving a review, your first name, last initial, city and province, month and year of your project, rating and review will be posted on our website. Your full name, address, email address, phone number, details of your project or any other information you may enter will never be shared with any third parties without your explicit consent. Why do you limit the number of contractors in each category?
We are not in the business of mass subscriptions with the sole objective to collect as much profit as possible. We focus on quality rather than quantity, while providing the customers plenty of choices when it comes to their projects and priorities. Hundreds of contractors per each category would be a nuisance in the sense that too many options would be available without focusing on the very best.
I am a contractor and want to be on the top of my category. How much will this cost?
We are unable to offer you any such service. All our contractors start equal when it comes to rank. The only way you may be able to rise in ranking within your category is to receive highest possible reviews from your Halton customers. You will be ranked by your overall score as default, but customers are able to re-sort the list by quality of work performed, efficiency of the contractor, their customer service skills, as well as affordability. If you are a contractor that can complete projects in a very timely fashion, provide competitive prices, go the extra mile in customer service, all while providing exceptional quality of materials/work, you will be on top of your category by default search (overall score). But you may also be able to be on the top of your category by having highest ranking in at least one of the criteria if the customer sorts the list by their own priority.
